Recall Replacement

In an effort to be proactive in ensuring the safety of all, we have issued a recall FOR ORDERS SHIPPED BETWEEN FEBRUARY 1, 2024 and MARCH 31, 2025. ORDERS SHIPPED BEFORE February 1, 2024 or AFTER March 31, 2025  are NOT subject to this recall.

***ATTENTION ~ BEFORE YOU CONTINUE***
If you are using your phone, please understand that it is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that you
use a laptop or desktop to review and complete this process to avoid any issues with this process! Thank you.

START HERE –> PLEASE PERFORM A VISUAL INSPECTION

  • Please have one or more of your devices in hand and see images below.
  • Look at your ResQ Disc laying face down.
  • Inspect the assembly where the rope attaches to the Disc.
  • Read the description below each image.

IMAGE A or similar variation – CORRECT!

IMAGE A (or similar variation) = CORRECT!

The proper rope-to-disc assembly will have a loop secured with two or more metal hogties. The loop may or may not have an orange strap through it. The rope-to-disc assembly in the above or left images (or a similar variation) are correct.

Regardless of the assembly variation, the important thing is that the rope-to-disc assembly is secure and the rope will not separate from the disc.

IMAGE B – Incorrect.

IMAGE B = Incorrect.

If your ResQ Disc has an orange strap around the end/tip of the rope with hogties over/around ONLY the orange strap, your device(s) should be replaced. This incorrect rope-to-disc assembly may result in the rope detaching from the disc during use.

If there is any kind of knot or loop in the rope with the orange strap, please see section below “How to Test if Replacement is Needed”

NOTE: The Disc itself still has floatation. Therefore, if the rope were to separate from the disc, there is enough floatation to keep the person’s head above water while another line is deployed.

Please complete the short form below to get replacement(s) per the instructions.

HOW TO TEST IF REPLACEMENT IS NEEDED

If your rope-to-disc assembly does not look exactly like the incorrect image above or dissimilar to the correct image above, you can check the the rope-to-disc assembly in the following 2 ways:

1) Tug HARD on the orange strap.
If it’s pulling apart or slipping, let’s not take any chances. Please proceed to form below to have them replaced.

2) Unravel the rope completely from the disc and attempt to pull the other end of the rope on the opposite side of the rope-to-disc assembly through the disc.
Does it seem like it would pull through the hole in the Disc? If so, let’s not take any chances. Please proceed to the form below to have them replaced.

If after testing, neither of the above tests raised any concern about the rope-to-disc assembly separating from the disc, your devices should function as designed. If you are in doubt, feel free to email [email protected].
